"You mentioned that some cover letters show lots of work like government public interest and you're supposed to show why you wanna work in a law firm. What is the best way to convey that? Is it okay to be straightforward and say, 'I want to work in a law firm to be in a fast paced environment'?'"

Something along those lines, just saying, "I would prefer to work in a law firm for a lot of different reasons." The reasons people transition from government to public interest are because the law firms typically can get clients so they can work on more sophisticated matters, so they can be on the other side of the equation. All those sorts of reasons. You should basically show that you really do want to work in a law firm, and why you do. If you've worked in a law firm before, that you prefer the work in law firms; if you've never worked in a law firm, the reasons why you want to work in a law firm now. You usually know those reasons, and you can put those down, something like that.
