Why the Circular Economy is key to addressing climate change

Why the Circular Economy is key to addressing climate change

A circular economy for the five materials we use the most - steel, cement, aluminium, plastics, and food - would eliminate the equivalent of all the emissions from today’s transport sector by 2050. That’s 9.3 billion tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year by 2050.

Our founder Dame Ellen MacArthur explains why the circular economy is key to addressing climate change and to building a more resilient economy that doesn’t depend on the use of finite resources.
