The 'River' fire started about 2pm on 4 Aug near the Bear River Campgrounds on the Nevada/Place Co border very near the town of Colfax, CA. and not far from my home and local airport (KGOO).
In about 6 hours the fire burned over 2600 Acres
Over 6000 residents evacuated.
14 Airtankers working out of Grass Valley and McClellan dropped over 248,000 gallons of retardant in the 6 hour burn period.
