I was asked on stream the other day ‘what makes a player good on football manager’ and at first I laughed. Then, I thought, wow what a nice challenge to try and explain that in a video. So, here I am trying to boil down what makes any individual player on FM actually good in the game. We throw around things like a player’s fit into a tactic, their attributes, and how good-looking they are - all are equally relevant.
Real talk though I try to get past the FM trope of just signing wonderkids and you will be fine, but touch on what attributes actually make a player good on football manager - no matter the tactic. There are also attributes that don’t mean a lot on their own so those are important to point out too so you can assess the quality of a player better. This is all an inexact science so it really is advice I have picked up over years of trying to beat a silly FM game that has taken over my life. Enjoy, peeps.
