IAEA, 2050년 원자력 발전량 전망치 상향…"10년 만의 첫 조정"
The International Atomic Energy Agency on Thursday revised up its projection of the potential growth of nuclear power capacity for electricity generation,... in the agency's first revision in ten years.
According to its latest revision,... the IAEA now expects world nuclear generating capacity to double to 792 gigawatts by 2050,... from 393 gigawatts last year.
The outlook compares with the previous year's high projection of 715 gigawatts.
However,... the low case projection for 2050 remains essentially the same as now.
The change comes as the world aims to move away from fossil fuels with many countries considering nuclear power for reliable and clean energy production.
