Taliban rule in Afghanistan poses no immediate threat to the United States or any other highlanders. The immediate danger is to the 6 countries that share a land border with Afghanistan. The biggest risk is for Pakistan. Pakistan was the first country to greet the Taliban after the capture of Kabul. Now Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and, National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf are urging the world community to recognize the Taliban government. To date, no country in the world has recognized the Taliban government.
