WhatsApp begins testing a business directory in the style of the yellow pages
In So Paulo, Brazil, WhatsApp is developing a new business directory that will let users to identify local businesses and services that have an app presence.
WhatsApp will display companies categorised by categories such as "grocery store" and "restaurant" before allowing users to talk directly with them.
Since 2018, WhatsApp has introduced a dedicated app for small businesses, adding features like as support for product catalogues and shopping carts.
It has also begun offering in-app payments in Brazil and India, allowing users to make purchases directly from companies in addition to sending money to friends and family.
