The latest talks between the Indian and Chinese military commanders over the Ladakh standoff broke down. The Indian Army released a statement saying that the Chinese side couldn't provide any forward-looking proposals. The disengagement talks could not produce any resolution of the remaining issues in eastern Ladakh. The Indian Army wanted the Chinese troops to disengage from the Hot Springs area, & Depsang Plains. Meanwhile, China responded with a short statement accusing India of persisting with “unreasonable and unrealistic demands”. China also said that it made great efforts to promote the easing and cooling of the border situation.
