PEREN CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATION RESOLVES TO PROHIBIT RAMPANT DEFORESTATION

In order to stop further destruction to forest and ensure that economic activities are carried out in a disciplined manner, the Peren Civil Society Organisations in a joint statement issued that total prohibition against the passage of round timber from Peren district except sawn timber will be in effect from this season. The resolution was made to stop rampant deforestation and exploitation of natural resources in the district. The CSO’s also resolved to entrust the student organisation of the district to impose the decision and defaulters will be penalised accordingly
