On October 2, along with Aryan Khan, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son, the Narcotics Control Bureau had arrested several others after raiding an alleged 'rave' party on a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. Among them was one Nupur Satija who got bail on October 30, but the detailed order became available only over the weekend. Aryan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on October 28, and he walked free on October 30. Now, in Satija's case, a special NDPS Act court has said that the alleged seizure of narcotic drugs from the co-accused in the drugs-on-cruise case, was 'illegal' as it was not conducted by an authorized woman officer. The prosecution had claimed that four pills of 'Ecstasy' were recovered from her possession. Her lawyers had in turn claimed that an authorised woman officer, as mandated by the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, was not present during the seizure. In the case, Special judge V V Patil said 'admittedly, there was no lady officer present and no panchanama was carried out by person authorised for that purpose' as only a female `panch' witness had searched the accused. The judge then said, 'Therefore there is breach of a provision the NDPS Act' while adding that she is entitled to bail on the ground of illegal seizure. Meanwhile, in Aryan Khan's case, the anti-drugs agency had stated that no drugs were recovered from his possession and only 6 grams of charas was found in the possession of Arbaaz Merchant, the star kid's friend. But NCB maintained they found 'incriminating material' in his WhatsApp chats wherein he had even allegedly spoken to drug peddlers. NCB also alleged Aryan could be a part of an international drug network.
