A few mistakes which added up:
Not being observant on cycle timing, led to launching at the end of an already weak cycle.
Using up too much runway while setting up then prepping the glider - and misjudging how much actual runnable space was available on a short and shallow launch.
Holding glider back at first, (causing legs to swing) and resulting in a lack of energy/speed to use brakes effectively to pop over bushes.
Attempting launch when I could feel very light inflation in the glider.
