Furious Swayne obliterates Dr Harries 'socialising' comments: Huge detriment of people’s wellbeing!

Senior Tory MP Desmond Swayne has savaged remarks from dr Jenny Harries, Britain's current head of NHS Test and Trace after she said that people should only socialise when necessary in order to reduce the spread of the Omicron variant.

Speaking on Radio 4's Today programme, Dr Harries said: "Our behaviours in winter and particularly around Christmas we tend to socialise more. I think being careful, not socialising when we don't particularly need to and particularly going and getting those booster jobs which, of course, people will now be able to have at a three-month interval from their primary course."

Three of the most lockdown-sceptic Tory MPs - Sir Desmond Swayne, Mark Harper and Steve Baker - have challenged her over what Harries said this morning.
