Mystery Object from 1880s Lumber Train Rail Bed - SHORTS

Found in the side bank of a old lumber train, narrow gauge rail bed, mixed with rail spikes, shattered iron, and other misc. train rail items. Could this be part of a train? It appears there was linear friction on the curved surface and it may have pivoted a bit. Has what looks like "D7560" with some additional symbols or characters after.
