American English Pronunciation - Linking with the Contraction "I'd"

American English Pronunciation - Linking with the Contraction "I'd"

This video is a request from one of my accent clients! Learn how to link two consonants together using the contraction "I'd". The final /d/ in "I'd" usually turns into an unreleased D consonant, which can be super challenging for non native speakers to pronounce. You'll practice specific examples of these consonant to consonant links:

D to D, like in "That's how I'd do it."
D to Z, like in "I’d zip up your coat now."
D to TH, like in "I’d think about it some more."
D to G, like in "I’d gone to the store already."
D to R, like in "I’d rather order the steak."

This video is jam-packed with examples shown close up and in slow motion, analysis of the final D consonant in a waveform, and practice sentences at the end!
